In collaboration with Mara + Natha Architecture Ltd., the client worked with us to present a proposal for a scheme with consolidate density onto one 28 storey tower-podium
The Heritage Park Tower was a scheme which grew out of its context: a heritage designated home on one end, and a planned parkette on the other; the mixed-use scheme acted as a connection between them. The project was adjacent to single-family homes, so the design lowered the podium as much as possible to preserve their views to the mountains.
Lower Apartments to Preserve Views
The community plan called for an obtrusive 6-storey building on the site. We proposed a low 3-4 Storey solution to preserve views to the mountains
Split Podium for Connective Park
The site was bookended with a Heritage Plaza and a future park. The design split the podium to create novel connection through the site.
Density Transfer to Tower
We proposed a density consolidation of amenity contribution to a tower to be the least obtrusive to the neighbours, while signalling the entrance gateway to the city.
Sculpt Tower for Views
Articulation of the facade with breaks in the massing for variability, outdoor amenity terraces, and view preservation.
Previous Pre-Application
Collaborating with a local planner, we developed a full pre-application package to begin a relationship with the city. The package was overall received positively, and the community thinking was the strongest part of the proposal.
